Cycling Tumut and the Snowy Mountains

Pack your MTB, your road bike, your training wheels or your people carrier because there are some epic trails around Tumut for all levels of biking experience.

Tumut MTB Park has 28 great trails that are accessible a short distance from Riverglade CP. The state forest has managed trails across the area, ranging in difficulty from beginner to advanced. It’s a great way to fight the cold in the winter, enjoy nature, hang with friends or with your family.

The trails are well signposted, well managed and suitable for hikes and trail running as well as biking.

Visit Trailforks for a map and more information.

For a lovely, but more sedate ride, try the newly opened Tumbarumba to Rosewood rail trail. This sealed track is 21 km of refurbished rail route, through beautiful, car free scenery. Enjoy the historic timber trestled bridges preserved in the reconstruction and refurbishment of the trail, especially the 7-span Mannus Creek Bridge. A masterpiece of bridge building, it also features a sweeping curve in its engineering.
